COMPUTER savvy coupled with analytical minds led to the success of eight pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Perempuan Kluang to emerge as champions at the Johor-level Malaysian Cybergames Festival in Johor Baru on Monday.

The group of two Year Four and six Year Five pupils were calm during the entire competition, thanks to the information and communications technology classes which they attended at their school weekly.

Team member Habsah Abu Bakar Sidek, 11, said it was her first time entering such a competition, but she found the quiz questions a breeze.

“Most of the questions were on Mathematics and English. I like Mathematics so I had fun answering them,” said Habsah, whose ambition is to be a teacher.

A total of 240 pupils from 28 schools throughout Johor participated in the festival which was held at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre.

The pupils raced against time to answer questions related to Mathematics, English and general knowledge on a specially-designed software.

The event, which was in its seventh year, was organised by the Malaysian Cybergames Operations and Research Centre in Cyberjaya.

The winners will be joining winners from other states for the finals to be held in Cyberjaya in September.
